The new e-Visa on Arrival (eVOA) makes Thailand even more travel-friendly. Citizens of 18 countries can now easily visit the country by simply arriving at immigration checkpoints and presenting supporting documents.
The process is open to passport holders from countries that qualify for visa on arrival, and tourism must be the primary reason for visiting.
Visa-free travel
The country of Thailand attracts millions of visitors each year due to its ornate temples, sandy beaches, and charming water markets. In order to accommodate the needs of visitors, the Thai government has made it easier for travelers from a number of countries to travel to Thailand by waiving their visa requirements.
As of now, passport holders from 19 countries can enter Thailand without a visa on arrival. However, it is important to note that this does not mean that these travelers will be able to work or live in the country long-term.
Those who want to travel to the Land of Smiles on a visa-free basis should make sure that their passport is valid for six months or more and that they have a return or onward flight ticket. In addition, they should also be able to prove that they have adequate funds for their trip. If they are caught overstaying their visa, fines can start at 500 Thai Baht per day.
Tourist visas
Thailand has long been a popular tourist destination for travellers from around the world. However, many foreign nationals who want to visit Thailand must apply for a visa at the Thai embassy or consulate before they can travel. In some cases, this can be a lengthy process.
The visa requirements for a tourist visa vary depending on the country of origin. In general, applicants need a passport that is valid for six months and has blank visa pages. Applicants must also have a confirmed return ticket that proves they will leave the country within 15 days of their arrival date, a completed visa application form and proof of sufficient funds to cover the cost of their trip.

Business visas
Business visas are a must-have for anyone who plans to conduct business in Thailand. These visas allow individuals to enter the country for the purposes of conducting meetings, negotiating contracts, and exploring investment opportunities.
To qualify for a Thai business visa, you must have a passport that is valid for more than 90 days and have sufficient funds to cover your expenses while in Thailand. You also need to provide a letter of invitation from the company you will be working for and proof of employment.
To avoid delays, you should make sure that all of your documents are accurate and up-to-date. You should also bring a recent photo and a completed visa application form. If you are a citizen of one of the 19 countries on the visa-on-arrival list, you can save time by filling out your application form in advance. However, you must arrive at a designated entry point to receive your visa on arrival.
Transit visas
If you are travelling to Thailand on a transit visa, you must have a valid passport and travel documents with at least six months of validity. You must also have a confirmed onward ticket and sufficient funds for your stay in the country. You must also complete the required visa application form and submit it to a Thai embassy or consulate.
The application process for a Thailand transit visa varies according to your nationality and the length of your layover. It is advisable to contact the nearest embassy or consulate in advance to determine what requirements you must meet. Generally, you will need to submit a valid passport and proof of financial means, as well as a letter explaining why you are traveling to Thailand.
It is possible to apply for a Thailand transit visa online, although it is not available for all nationalities. Currently, only citizens of China, Bulgaria, Romania, and Cyprus are eligible for this service.
